 antiX-base-t3 available for testing
From https://sourceforge.net/projects/antix-linux/or http://www.mepisimo.com/antix/Testing/md5sum = 1bccf3b1f5c451b96692b2f5d40c4925 antiX-base-t3.iso Note this is the base version. Features: * latest Debian testing updates (25/04/2012) * latest 3.3.3 kernel. * better localisation (still in progress) * bugs from test2 fixed * alternative squeeze repos changed to wheezy as wheezy is projected to freeze in June and become new stable for 2013. * latest spacefm added. * iceweasel language packs removed. * gui installer offers to install grub to MBR or don't install grub. * latest ceni Please test for general running live and installed, installation (in virtualbox is ok). Try and find the bugs (I'm sure there are plenty still) Also please test running live with persistence on a stick/frugal on a hard drive. Test snapshot feature. Known issue: * antix2usb is still not working as a gui, but it is working as a script. To use the antix2usb installer script, plug in usb device, open a root terminal and type: new_usb.sh -b grub path/to/iso file usb device ie Or use unetbootin.

Not yet. This is more like an 'internal' testing release.

 Re: antiX-base-t3 available for testing
--used unetbootin > USB > booted fine on my Acer Aspire netbook (T2 did not) --installed w/o problem --GRUB found existing OS's (MEPIS 11 and XP), but they would not boot ("file not found") --rebooted with M8 CD, repaired GRUB. M8 found M11 and XP, which both work, but no antiX --stuck there ATM, probably will have to alter menu.lst manually EDIT: Looks like the partition is foobar, will reinstall in another. EDIT EDIT: now I remember, the MEPIS installer screws up such a hard drive setup. Have to hand edit menu.lst along these lines: Now everything is copacetic, and I can enjoy antiX!

Have fun with it Jerry, especially running live with persistence on a stick.

 Re: antiX-base-t3 available for testing
There are a couple of 'silly' bugs, but an apt-get dist-upgrade should fix them, even when running live persistence.
BTW: Had to look up copacetic. Nice word!

LOL. It both dates and locates me, since it emerged in the US in the 1960s. I never use it except with a certain irony...

 Re: antiX-base-t3 available for testing
Considered slang by some dictionaries and origin early 1915-1920. I remember it also becoming more common usage in the 1960's with the coffee house cool dudes. I am downloading antix now. I have not tried it for a while and will give it a try on a stick. Unfortunately no HD space available. EDIT: Up and running with a 4 GIG stick. Really nice. Becoming familiar with Fluxbox whhich I have not used before to any extent. Looks pretty simple for normal tasks. Nice job anti.
