This raised a question in my mind: Since most people have dynamic IP addresses, how do forums keep track of who the bad guys are and not blacklist the good guys by accident?
MX-14; 3.12-0.bpo.1-686-pae kernel using 4GB RAM
2.4GHz AMD Athlon 4600+
NVidia GeForce 6150 LE; 304.121 Display Driver
You didn't slow down because you're old; you're old because you slowed down.

There are accidents. The best should be if the good guys could avoid an IP-address that's been used for years to send spam as that's bound to create a misunderstanding
Anyone can check the reputation of their IP-address with the resources on Project Honey Pot.

joany, it can be difficult. unfortunately, sometimes a legit user's IP is blacklisted because they happen to be using the same provider as a spammer. one would hope that the ISP becomes quickly aware of this and takes steps to stop the spammer, thereby clearing up the blacklisting situation. the problem can be really exacerbated if you use a dial-in connection, or service where your network modem's IP is reassigned quicker than others. i had this situation occur a couple of years ago. it took a bit before the situation cleared up on its own.

unfortunately, there isn't a 100% clean solution to this problem. crowd sourcing spammer identification is probably the best technique, and while this may be a better solution, because it introduces humans into the mix again, it will never be perfect - in fact, as the number of users increases on the net relying on IPs as a form of id'ing spammers will only get more difficult.

I can not connect from France (my holidays...) to mepis.org neither.

The connection is made via a 3G+ key, so DHCP (SFR is the provider) and redirects me to this page:

http://www.projecthoneypot.org/ip_92.90.17.6

that corresponds to my actual IP. After several trials, I get the same IP so, connection is not possible.

As you can see spam has been sent from that IP-address, even the last week. Can you get another IP-address from the provider? Or use a proxy?

I once had to go through their procedure to get mepis.org off of their list. I think I had to do this two different times.
Yes, even I am dishonest. Not in many ways, but in some. Forty-one, I think it is.

Until you can get this rectified with your ISP, try connecting through anonymouse.org: http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html

The main drawback is that the connection will be very slooooow.

Or install Tor and then use it with your browser. When I did that on Amazon, which is always bugging me with suggestions based on the page I last looked at, I got the query: "Are you from Indonesia?"
Production: 4.2.0-0.bpo.1-amd64, MX-15 RC1, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 8 GB, Kingston SSD 120 GB and WesternDigital 1TB
Testing: AAO 722: 3.16-0-4-686-pae. MX-15, AMD C-60 APU, 4 GB
